So you want to learn to Knit?

Berkshire Athenaeum volunteer Ann Tierney will offer a ten-week series of free knitting classes, on Thursdays, 6 – 7:30 pm,  running from September 15 – November 17.

Participants will learn to cast on, cast off and knit, finishing either a scarf or a set of coasters (or potentially both!).

Needles for novice knitters will be provided by the Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum; practice yarn will be provided by Ann Tierney. Work  on projects at home is strongly recommended!

Space is limited and registration is required. Register at pittsref@cwmars.org or by contacting the Reference Department during regular library hours (413) 499-9480 x202.

[A second set of lessons is planned for the Winter/Spring and will teach  participants to knit and purl. Industrious knitters will create a baby
blanket or a lap robe by the end of the second course.]
