Short Story Writing Contest winners announced!

Winners of the Athenaeum’s annual Short Story Writing contest have been announced by the Children’s Library.

  •  Ages 5-6 Division: 1st Place: Isaac Douglas Corbett – “The Campout Mystery”; 2nd Place: Ian Patrick Corbett – “Bunny and Mouse”; Honorable Mention: Hannah Stroud – “The Missing Rabbit Girl”;
  • Ages 7-8 Division: 1st Place: Evan Petruzella – “The Mysterious Egg”; 2nd Place: Hannah Roach – “The Attack of Fast Food”; Honorable Mention: Isabella Corbett – “The Undersea Adventure”;
  •  Ages 9-10 Division: 1st Place: Anna Quinto – “Snow Day”; 2nd Place: Lucia Shuff-Heck – “Stray”; Honorable Mention: Karissa Yzerman-Gleason – “The Life of Tibsy Meganoff”;
  •  Ages 11-14 Division: 1st Place: Emily Halford – “The Chase”; 2nd Place – Charity Stroud – “A Portrait of a Pig Farm”; Honorable Mention: Zachary Williams – “Medal of Honor”;
  • Ages 15-18 Division: 1st Place: Stephanie Passetto – “Diamonds and Darkness”; 2nd Place: Tom Cracolici – “The Boy Who Never Got His Lunch”.

 Congratulations to all the winners!

All Short Story Writing Contest participants are invited to a reception at 1 pm on Friday, August 20, where local author Paul Milenski will speak. Refreshments will be served.

The Short Story Writing Contest is sponsored by the Friends of the Berkshire Athenaeum.
